This 1953 FL model was ordered from the factory with the Deluxe Solo Group, Speedster Handlebars and Glacier Blue Paint, items still present on this bike today. By 1953 footshift bikes were out numbering hand shift 2 to 1.
The engine is believed to be untouched since 1953 and still runs like a new machine. Only replacement items are the tyres, exhaust header pipes and seat cover. The bike usually wears the 1951 to early 53 studded saddlebags but having just completed the 900 mile Sixtieth Hydra-Glide Commemorative Ride the late 53 to 57 ‘Speed King’ bags were fitted (part #90994-53)
This Hydra was added to our collection in 2005 and traveled some 2000 trouble free miles during that period.
